Sightseeing tours in London

There are plenty of sightseeing tours in London that you can enjoy while you spend some time with us here at Charlotte Guest House in Hampstead. We've put together a couple of ideas that you can try out during your visit.

Tour 1

Take the 139 bus from just outside, across the road in West End Lane. This passes Madam Tussauds, Oxford St. (main shopping street) - Selfridges, Liberty - Regents St. (Carnaby St. is located just off Regents St.), Piccadilly Circus to Trafalgar Square (where the National Gallery is located). From there you can walk under Admiralty Arch and down the Mall to Buckingham Palace, then along Birdcage Walk to Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Then up Whitehall (the centre of government), past Scotland Yard, Downing St. ( and the Cabinet War rooms), and the Horse guards, back to Trafalgar Square.

Tour 2

2 minute walk to West Hampstead Underground station (Jubilee Line), then take the train to Charing Cross. From there take the number 15 bus to Tower Hill. This passes through the city - financial and business district - St Paul's Cathedral, the Bank of England, the Stock Exchange and finally the Tower of London. From there it is a short walk to Tower Bridge, with its viewing gallery giving a superb view up and down the River Thames. Almost under the bridge is moored the World War 2 cruiser HMS Belfast, which is open to visitors. From the same pier, take the river bus back to Charing Cross pier (just behind Charing Cross Underground station), from there you can return to West Hampstead.
